My Great-Grand Parents on my mother's side

This photo was taken over in Russia just before my grandmother (Lena, seated on the right) went to America to join my grandfather (Harry) who had come ahead.

The two folks standing in the rear are her parents (my great-grand parents.)  She was their only child and, after exchanging Sabbath candlesticks, they parted and never saw each other again.  The children are my 3 uncles and an aunt (who died of influenza as a teen).  They came over on a boat, steerage, and my mother and another aunt were born here.

My Grandparents

on my fathers side.

They met in the USA.

Louis & Sophie

Louis was a classic "old world" tyrant and therefore my father was affected by this to a degree.  I, in turn, was affected by my father - but even less so.  As far as a "trade" goes Louis was a lot of things, but mostly a con artist and a phony of sorts.  He could (and would) sell you anything!!  They had four children - 2 boys and 2 girls.
