First Marriage

11/1/64  to  9/30/65

Note the dates, above.  I'll save you the trouble of doing the math  -  it's 11 months to the day!  (Hey, I didn't want to have to spring for an anniversary present too!)

About a year after I got out of the Navy, we got married.  It was the day after Halloween ...Bad, bad, bad, badWhat was I thinking?

There are no surviving pictures from this strange union.  My mother cut "her" out of all of them.  I'm not kidding.  My mother wasn't one to waste even the wedding pictures from a, now defunct, marriage.  For a while there were these strange pictures floating around of me getting my bow tie adjusted by a mysterious pair of hands (which had somehow sneaked into what seemed to be an otherwise fine picture of just me, in a tux.)

...and I don't think there are any other surviving pictures - it's enough that I survived.  But, you went to the trouble of reading this, and you are therefore entitled to see a nice picture, so I'll show you a picture of a nice pleasant summer day that I found somewhere....
